UCLUELET! KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING"
UCLUELET MAYOR: 2018 -2022As Mayor I was always about ‘boots on the ground’, and proud to lead Ucluelet…after spending four years as a Councillor. I’m a no-nonsense guy who brings practical solutions that are guided by long term strategy and partnerships. I kept my promise to maintain an open and respectful dialog with our community and District staff regarding the issues facing Ucluelet. I kept the momentum going on long term projects like water supply, housing and business development, health care and safe schools to ensure Ucluelet is prepared for the future.
“HONEST, ENERGETIC, AND A MAN OF GREAT INTEGRITY.”
Time is of the essence to continue to maintain the positive momentum Ucluelet has built; I am honoured to be the person who leads and works to secure the future of our community together.I’m giving my heart to this.
As mayor, I will continually work hard for Ucluelet with honesty and integrity, as I have my whole life. I will not make false promises, use fancy political jargon or offer quick band-aid solutions to community concerns. I promise to maintain an open and respectful dialog, have healthy and constructive conversations, listen to opinions from the community, staff and Council about the issues Ucluelet is facing. You never know where a great idea will come from…If it takes a village to raise a child, then it truly does take a village to progress and prepare for the future. Housing, water supply, business development growth, health care and schools are not solved by one person. I can lead Ucluelet towards a positive and established future through communication, fiscal responsibility and collaboration.

SMALL BUSINESS TO THE CORE
For those who don’t know me, I was born and raised in Ucluelet. My family travelled from Quebec back in the mid-1960’s, as they saw the opportunity to thrive and build a life on the west coast.
My father started in Forestry, but always had a passion for small business. After a decade in Ucluelet, he and my mother purchased the West Coast Motel. Over the next thirty years, his love for Ucluelet, hard work, tenacity, and perseverance awarded him the opportunity to grow businesses in multiple sectors throughout our community (including the Harbourview Restaurant in Ucluelet). This provided jobs and stability for locals. I was taught the values of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, which helped me support not only my family but the valued employees that have worked with us over the years. These core principles awarded me the opportunity to become a trusted leader within the Coulson Group of Port Alberni for over 25 years. My time at Coulson’s has provided me the opportunity to invest in our community and open my own business, the ‘Rent-It-Centre’ in Ucluelet. My family continues to be small business owners who have prospered and survived through the growth and change of Ucluelet. My family continues to be small business owners who have prospered and survived through the growth and change of Ucluelet.
LET’S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING
“MAYCO’S DRIVE AND DEDICATION HAVE NO BOUNDS. HE IS ONE OF THE MOST LOYAL AND TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE MY HUSBAND AND I KNOW.” TRUDY LEE
I will take the time to listen to opinions, have healthy and constructive conversations, and remain transparent in my communication. I would be honoured to be the person who leads and works to secure the future of our community together. Time is of the essence to maintain the positive momentum Ucluelet has built on projects already started.
My wife Lilia, daughters Chloe and Milena are the most important part of my life. They mean the world to me and everything I do is for them. They also know my love for our town and how important my civil roll within the the community is to me. They support me through all of my civic responsibilities as well as the decision to run for mayor. I want the best for my family and yours.
“MAYCO NOEL = HONESTY & INTEGRITY”

Ian Kennington, BLA – The Design Centre Ucluelet
“Mayco Noel has proven himself consistently as a councillor to be dedicated to the long term success and economic sustainability of our growing community. I appreciate the manner in which he addresses other members of council as well as his unbiased and thoughtful consideration on issues which have been presented by community members. I have every faith that as Mayor he will continue the great work initiated over the last 4 years by all members of the previous council and Mayor as well as meet any of the new challenges facing us head on.”

“Mayco has had an easy smile, sense of humour, and genuine nature since high-school. While I haven’t known Mayco as long as my wife, Coral, I would have to agree. It wasn’t too long after Mayco returned to Ucluelet with his family, moving in down the road from us, that he joined council and our neighbourly chats turned from weather to policy. I have always found his practical views, and successful free enterprise business sense very appealing, and consider him an excellent advocate for Ucluelet and its citizens. We support Mayco Noel for Ucluelet Mayor, and hope to move forward with his ideas and energy.”
Ucluelet Rent It Centre
“Like my husband, Mayco is a born and raised Ukee boy. We have all known each other most of our lives. After graduation, Mayco started working for Coulson Forest Products and very quickly moved his way up in the company. His drive and dedication knows no bounds. The words “no” or “I can’t” are not in his vocabulary. This is apparent to everyone who has ever worked for him, with him or employed him.Over a decade ago, Mayco had a great idea to open up a little equipment/tool rental shop in Ucluelet and asked my husband if he would be his partner. We started off very small but in eleven years, have grown into a company with multiple services and are happy to be able to provide employment for local workers. This was all done through hard work, great ideas and the ability to say you’re going to do something and following through.Over the years, Mayco and his family have become our family. He is one of the most loyal and trustworthy people my husband and myself have ever met and we feel fortunate to call him a friend.”
Twelve Years Local Government
“Mayco would be a terrific mayor! He is honest, energetic and a man of great integrity. Mayco loves his community and it shows. He is a team player and has solid leadership skills. Ukee will be lucky to have him! Go Mayco!”
Heli Logging Pilot
“I met Mayco in May 2000 at Coulson Aircrane where I was employed as a heli-logging support pilot out of Ucluelet. The first quality I noticed about Mayco was his ability to get things done; he seems to have endless energy. He always accepted the challenges of supervision and made hard decisions. Whether it was managing heavy helicopters, air tankers all over North America or running conventional or heli-logging operations, Mayco would accept the challenge with enthusiasm. As a resident of Ucluelet since 2008 I have noticed the speed at which Ucluelet is growing and I think we can all agree that tough decisions will need to be made very soon. Affordable housing, infrastructure expansion and controlled growth will need to be addressed. As a life long resident of Ucluelet, with strong leadership skills, I believe Mayco is an excellent candidate for mayor. He has experience as a councilor, supervisor and local entrepreneur with a clear vision on how to properly manage the inevitable expansion of our town. “
PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS GUIDED BY LONG TERM STRATEGY AND PARTNERSHIPS.
BIG WHEELS KEEP ON ROLLING
I speak from the heart, am very level headed and have a deep passion to give back to our community. This is about the long term vision. Our entire future is riding on how we succeed.
I will lead Ucluelet towards a positive and established future through communication, fiscal responsibility and collaboration. Housing, water supply, business development growth, health care and schools are not solved by one person. Time truly is of the essence to maintain the positive momentum Ucluelet has built; I am honoured to be the person who leads and works to secure the future of our community together.
